About Stash the Keys - Dueling Keyboards

 Stephanie and Ashley (ST-ASH) are the yin and yang of the pianist world. Stephanie is a skilled and advanced pianist capable of sight-reading just about any piece of music you put in front of her. She's experienced with accompanying large group performances, solo performance, teaching and more. She can play by ear and has great pitch, but she isn't super confident playing without seeing how it's supposed to be played. Ashley is just the opposite.  If you put a piece of sheet music in front of her, she's going to stare at it, maybe pick out one note at a time, then she might tell you to throw it out because it likely isn't written like the recording sounds anyway. Ashley prefers to play strictly by ear, likes to improvise and "just see what happens." But, has a strict rule that any song performed must be performed in the key that the recording was in, as the artist intended. Together, Stephanie and Ashley help each other out. Stephanie helps Ashley stay focused on the task at hand as well as keeping tempo and filling in the gaps with her skills. Ashley helps Stephanie "feel the music" and trust her natural instinct to play what she feels like playing and not worry so much about what the paper says she "should" be playing. Together, they have a lot of fun, and are looking to bring their live show to venues in southern and south central Illinois!
